Confidence Creation Makeover with Guardian Malaysia

Since 2008, Guardian Malaysia had been empowering women all over Peninsula Malaysia with their annual health and beauty fair and this year, the fair is bigger than ever as it was not held in just Klang Valley, but in the south (Johor Bahru last week), in Putrajaya at IOI City Mall the recent weekend and in Penang next weekend 2-3 April at Queensbay Mall. Penang ladies, watch out for it ya. Anyways, I had heard about this massive fair since years ago but it was my first time attending it to experience it as a media/blogger.

When I arrived last Saturday, it was really early, before 10am but I was surprised that there was already a line of people. This makeover must be really popular with the ladies. Some husbands even stood in line for their mothers or their wives, how sweet.

There were certainly lots of deals and freebies at the fair, it was definitely the best time to shop for beauty products, health products and more.

Christina Low, Marketing Director of Guardian Malaysia officiated the fair in the early morning. She said: “We are proud to note that since 2008, thousands of women have walked into this very fair to be transformed by our team of experts. But what we do here at the fair, is more than skin deep. I have no doubt that every woman who joins this fair walks out an exuberant and more confident self. What can be more appealing than a confident woman?”

“With that in mind, and to mark International Women’s Day celebrated earlier this month, we have chosen Confidence Creation, as the theme for our makeover fair. Confidence is one of the most important qualities a woman can have. Research has shown that confidence makes you approach everything differently. The ability to see one’s self-worth undoubtedly gives the boost to handle the various challenges that life throws at us. So to all the women out there – acknowledge that you are beautiful, love yourself and make healthy choices today!” she added.

The event wasn’t just about looking good from all the makeup, but it is also about making a healthier choice in our lifestyle. Spotted at the event was this bicycle blender! One had to cycle hard to be able to blend some healthy watermelon juice. This should be a nice addition to my home, too bad it was not for sale.

How was the process of the makeover? First, I was led to one of the stations and attended to by a hairstylists. On the mirror there were 12 hairstyles in different categories for me to choose from. I guess that made it easy for the customers and the hairstylists to decide too. I chose a braided style that was entitle Fabulous.

It so happen that I had a wedding to attend that afternoon and dinner at night so it was really perfect timing to go to the makeover. I love the curls and braids they gave me and the light but radiant makeup

I took off the braids before dinner and the curls still remained. I wish I know how to curl my hair like that myself.

After the makeovers, we were given a free photoshoot and a print out of our pic to bring home. I just love Elana’s look, don’t you think the hair and look is just gorgeous?

There were also lots of stage contests throughout the day with amazing prizes. I didn’t realise this but John actually joined one lychee eating contest sponsored by Sensodyne and actually won more than RM100 worth of toothpaste home.

Guardian’s Confidence Creation is made merrier with the Missing Hijabi Model search. Casting for new models for Hijabista magazine will be held at all three legs of the fair. Those interested can participate by purchasing products of any amount at the on-going fair, along with the publisher’s combo of magazines.

Customers can also check out Guardian’s limited edition tote bag, available at RM19.90 (NP RM49.90) at Guardian stores nationwide, while stocks last! I got mine, and it’s a really pretty and sturdy bag, can you spot it in the pic above?
