Last Saturday, I visited Sunway Pyramid to see the young talents from the 3 – 6 years old category perform and win in this 1 of 7 finale across the nation. For the rest of the finale still going on, see the below chart.
Even though my kids did not participate in the talent search, it had been quite a journey for us as well. If this is your first time here, check out the Dugrostar launch, Josiah posing as a Dugrostar, and finally Josiah’s own style of Dance to the Dugrostar Song.
The Dugrostar Roadshow is an amazing setup, there are tonnes of activities to do there. Josiah and I checked out Dugrostar Studio which is like a box which you can go inside and perform a song or a dance and get recorded on the spot. Of course, we did not prepare anything, it was all just for fun. Check out Josiah’s recording here.
Right next to the studio is Dugrostar Beat, where the kids can play with drums like those found in arcades.
If you have younger kids, Durgrostar Jump is a must play, it is a ball pit for them to jump about. The kids just couldn’t get enough of it.
We also checked out Dugrostar Steps, a dance station, no worries as there are people helping you to dance along to the song.
We also got our pics taken at Dugrostar Celebrity, where we can take family pics and the kids can dress up in costumes.
Besides that, there is Dugrostar Style, where you can get some face painting or hand painting done, and Dugrostar Creative, where the kids can play with Sand Art.
There is even a clown present that makes those shape balloons for the kids, and this one is totally free.
Of course, the main attraction is the stage where the little ones are performing. I was quite amazed at the level of talent that day. These kids are so young but they can sing and dance all at the same time. When I was there, this little girl was performing Rasa Sayang and she was dancing and singing altogether, I was so impressed.
I saw the dad even carrying a banner for her the entire time, so supportive of their kid’s talent, it was amazing. She’s already a star I’ll say.
The little finalists await their turn so patiently.
They all looked so professional, these kids do not look like they are in it just for fun. They are really passionate about the arts you can see.
Finally, after all the performances and deliberation, the results were announced. The judges for the event were:
Ruth Liew, Director of Malaysian Child Resource Institute and Child Developmentalist
Elza Irdalynna, Actor, Producer, and Speech/Drama Instructor at Blubricks
Nur Diyana Hashim: Radio DJ and Instructor at BluBricks
3rd Place: Cindy Lim, 5 years old, played the piano
2nd Place: VINCY KONG YUN SIM, 5 years old, singing
1st Place: Ashley Yong Hui Jing, 4 years old, dancing
The parents must be so proud of their little champions. I think they all did fantastic.
