We had fun at the photobooth after Josiah’s makeover, I think he now looks like a star! After that, the kids all proceed to a dance workshop, where they were taught on the spot how to dance to the Dugrostar song by some professional dancers and kids. This was the outcome of the dance. Josiah decided he wanted to hide in the back.

We even had a panel of experts to talk to us about children’s creativity and answer some of our questions too.

How to Join and Be a Star?

This opportunity is open to children in two age-based categories: three to six years and six plus to 10 years. Participants in each age category can enter in these segments – singing, dancing, playing an instrument or a combination of these talents, and perform individually or in a group of up to six children.

Parents can register their child in three ways – by uploading a video of their child’s performance at www.dugro.com.my; by visiting select nationwide roadshows where live recordings can be made at the Dugrostar™ Recording Booth; or by submitting the completed registration form with a recording of their child’s performance and mailing it to the address found on the registration form.

Participation in Dugrostarâ„¢ is absolutely free, with no proof of purchase requirement!

A total of two hundred and eighty (280) young finalists will be shortlisted for the next phase, involving live performances at seven malls across Malaysia held from 24 October to 16 November. At each location, First, Second and Third Prize winners for each age category will win great rewards, while all finalists will receive attractive prizes as a token of appreciation for their hard work!

Personally, I think this is a great opportunity for the many kids out there who is so talented and need show their talent to the world. Many kids I know love to perform in front of the camera. If your kid is one of them, why not give it a try. Nothing to lose but much experience to gain. Even Josiah learned so much at the event. After getting home, he actually started dancing a lot more than before, and became more conscious of ‘how to look cool’ etc.

Also, dancing, singing and performing can be a great outlet of expression for kids, they can express their feelings, frustrations, joy and sorrow! Yes, kids can feel like adults too. These three boys are so good at dancing! Check them out in the video above.
