I was recently at Naughty Nuri’s Desa Sri Hartamas to check out who are the top winners for their Facebook Selfie Contest that garnered top likes. Naughty Nuri’s decided to host this contest to celebrate their loyal customers after having served 100000 guests thus far. Their very lucky winners walked away with literally a bunch of cash!
Naughty Nuri’s by the way, is best known for their bbq pork ribs which I will be reviewing too, therefore the pig is highly featured in the restaurant and in this post. Let’s check out who had the last oink oink laugh all the way to the bank.
The boss of Naughty Nuri’s, Peter Khor presented the 3rd prize winner, Ms Ong E Hoon with RM2000 in hard cold cash. Ms Ong garnered over 300 likes for her selfie pic and really deserved the big win.
RM3000 went to Mr Daniel Chuah, represented here as he was not present. He had over 350 likes for his photo.
The first prize went to Mr Philip Johannessen who won RM5000! He was super happy that’s for sure.
20 Consolation prize winners also walked away with RM100 voucher for their next dining experience.
A group pic of the winners and the staff.
As mentioned, this place is most famous for this slab or porky ribs, the Naughty Nuri’s 1995 Signature BBQ Spare Ribs. 1 slab at RM39.90 The ribs are huge! These ribs are specially marinated with Balinese spice and char grilled with a special sauce. I must say, this is the best I ever had. The meat is juicy and really soft to the bones. I had my kids with me and they had no problem eating this. It is also super saucy, the sauce is just the right saltiness and sweetness, a very special sauce indeed.
It is served on a banana leaf, with a wedge of lime and some very spicy chilli sauce. I skipped the sauce though as it was really too spicy for me (as I can’t really eat spicy stuffs).
Next I tried the Naughty Nuri’s BBQ Satay Lilit priced at RM25. This is like Satay but not on a stick, the ‘stick’ is really lemongrass which I thought was really clever. The fragrance of lemongrass is steeped into the meat for that added tastiness.
The meat is actually minced pork marinated with Balinese spices and it is quite a large stick to be savoured. It has a tinge of spiciness to it too.
For some carbo loading, I had Indonesian Style Nasi Goreng priced at RM18. This is again a large portion that can be shared by a couple of people.
This is a stir fried rice with mix vegetables, onions, chillies and sliced pork with black sauce, topped with a fried egg on the side. Very hearty and delicious overall.
For some happy hour folks, you will be pleased to know that Naughty Nuri’s has a bar within the restaurant.
They also serve some mean Assam Boi Mojito at RM28. The combination of the sour and sweet can easily wash away your tiredness of the day. The assam boi is interestingly served on top of a bowl like piece of ice and a stick of lemongrass.
Lots of other drinks and sodas, juices, coffee and tea are all available on the menu.
I am going to go back to try out their dessert, Mt Buleleng inspired Sizzling Bacon Chocolate Cake! Bacon in cake? That has got to be something I need to taste.
Did you know that right next to Naughty Nuri’s is a speak-easy concept bar, P&C?
This is a place for those interested in very unique cocktails mixed by a trained mixologist. It is a very secretive hideout and I nearly couldnt’ find the door.
They even have the very limited edition Nikka Whiskey Gold & Gold Samurai Bottle, only available at Japanese Airports apparently.
