Somehow, I like to use Ikan Brand Sauces and not cook what it is meant to cook. Previously I had cooked these dishes with Ikan Brand Sauces.
1) Spaghetti
2) Fish Nuggets
3) Steam Fish
I guess you know by now that I just love cooking fish a lot! That is because in my fridge there are some many fish that was carried over from Sarawak. Anyways, so I decided to cook the Kim Chio, Golden Pomfret and being not a great cook, I have no idea about the best home made sauces to use. I look into my stash of Ikan Brand sauces and decided to go with the Satay Sauce. After all, Satay Sauce will taste great with any kind of meat no?
The ingredients found in the sauce are such as Onion, Turmeric, Lemongrass, Spices, Edible Oil, Sugar, Citric Acid and Salt.
I defrosted and cleaned up this fish, cut some slits through for thorough cooking.
I covered the fish with the sauce, which smelt really good as is and a bit oily too, so I don’t need extra oil later. The instructions call for 2 hours of marinating, but I didn’t actually have the time. So I cooked it immediately. Anyways, this fish is always sweet even without any sauce.
I used the sauce sparingly, not pouring a whole packet for one fish. Maybe it can be used up to 3 times.
I used my Chefel Double Sided Pan, my favourite pan for pan frying fish, as I just need to flip it over with the pan closed and not risk mashing up the dear fish in the process.
There, the fish after it was done.
It was a hearty meal that night all made with Ikan Brand sauces. Stay tuned for the next dish, the bone soup or Sup Tulang.
Ikan Brand Sauces are available in Giant, Jusco and Econsave.

For a person who like plenty of sauce in their dishes, I’d prefer to see more sauce used on the fish and stir fry it in a nice hot pan to elevate the taste.
