My New Year Spa Routine 2015

Previously I wrote a review about the Shizens Lip Tattoo and My 2015 Daily Makeup Regime from all the products I received during the Butterfly Christmas Party in December. Well, after using a lot of makeup, we girls sure need to do some spa routine to cleanse the skin and rejuvenate it. Especially for me, I have like ultra sensitive skin and easily break out in all places whenever the temperature changes or when I’m exposed to the very polluted Klang Valley air.

The products I am reviewing are:

1. L’Occitane En Provence Velvet hand Cream
2. Always 21 Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Mist
3. Matrix Biolage ColorLast Shampoo
4. Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask
5. Nature Republic Snail Solution Hydrogel Mask Sheet

1. L’Occitane En Provence Velvet hand Cream 10ml

Spa review
I received the travel sized 10ml version. The full version of 30ml is only RM39.00 as well, so this hand cream is quite affordable. Hand cream for me is a lttle different from normal lotion as in it is extra thick in texture. You can probably tell a woman’s age by her hands, or even how much hard work she has done. Therefore, to cover that we must apply hand cream daily to keep and maintain the youthfulness of our hands. This is not my first time using  L’Occitane hand cream  and I liked this one all the same, in fact, I think they are all the same.

Spa review

It’s thick but not sticky and not oily. It kinda absorbs into the skin after you apply it. The travel sized one is handy to bring out to the beach, that’s where I want to go all the time.

2. Always 21 Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Mist

I keep this Aloe Vera Gel Mist in my office all the time now, in fact I shared it with my colleagues. This is because my office is air conditioned and it dries out my skin. Apparently my skin is oily because it is actually dry, that’s why the oil keeps coming out. So I can now use this every few minutes to hydrate my skin. Plus points, it’s safe and paraben free and it’s a rather huge bottle at 100ml compared to other mist bottles I’d used. Loved the smell too.

3. Matrix Biolage ColorLast Shampoo Smoothproof RM55 400ml

Spa review

I received Matrix Biolage’s Smoothproof range shampoo for Frizzy hair. I actually have straight hair, but that does not mean it is not frizzy at times with the stray hairs that stand. I was so tempted to do rebonding, but then I discovered smoothing shampoos can do the trick too. So if I need my hair to be disciplined and straight, I’d use this shampoo then just let it dry out. I didn’t even use conditioner or serum but those are available in the Smoothproof range too for extra care. I liked how it is also paraben free and the colour is clear, means no extra extra chemicals to make the colour ..colourful. It’s a plus point for me immediately when a company bothers to make safe products with less dangerous chemicals. Matrix Biolage is only available in certain saloons though. I also like this, it reminds me of my mum. My mum is a hairdresser and all my life I had used saloon only shampoo, until I moved out of the house.

4. Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask

Spa review

I love sheet mask so naturally I will love this, and the words moisture and 3D hyaluronic acid sticks out to me. I’ve researched a great deal about collagen and hyaluronic acid and it seems the later is more powerful in anti-aging. I had been using other similar products with this ingredient to great effects, so this mask is no different. It claims to be able to moisture the skin and keep it hydrated for up to 24 hours. Of course, I don’t equipment to test that, but it does feel supple and nice right after peeling off the mask.

5. Nature Republic Snail Solution Hydrogel Mask Sheet

Spa review

Korean beauty products like to use men to promo their stuffs, when I got this I thought it was for men only, but apparently nope. Nature Republic mask is really good just on the pricier side, like 3 times the normal sheet mask?

Spa review

It says on the instruction to use toner before applying the mask, first time for me. So I just applied toner before using it last night.

Spa review

It comes in two piece and it’s SO different from what I’d used before, coz of the hydrogel. The sheet is like very thin and more towards plastic side. It sticks to my skin like a 2nd skin and it’s transparent. I left it on for about 20 min and when it dries, it becomes like really sticking to the skin. I love the tingling sensation and the cooling feel when having this on. It’s supposed to destress the skin and moisturise it from inside out. I think my skin loves this, just not the price tag hey. Masks like this should be used 3 times a week for optimum effect. Wish I have more to try out.

There you have it, my 2015 spa routine, I need to be more disciplined to do them daily, else my facial therapist gonna knock my head next time I go see her. Shout out to Tammy for picking all these awesome products. If I were to find them myself, I’d get really confused.
