I’ve decided to start off a series of iPhone app recommendations, apps that I love and find really useful here. For some of us with small homes, it’s not possible to have a real treadmill in the house for indoor exercise. Yet, we want to be able to track our active we are on a daily basis, eg, the number of steps we take in a day. It is said that we should walk at least 10k steps a day to maintain good health. Well, do we have any idea how many steps we took a day? With the iPhone we can actually track that. Sure, the iPhone has native Nike app that does that, but you’d need to buy those special pricey Nike shoes. That’s where iTreadmill comes in.
At only 0.99 usd, it is relatively much much cheaper than any real treadmill machines out there, but it does pretty much the same thing. Just turn it on, put the iPhone in your pocket and start walking around, either indoors or outdoors. It is able to detect your steps, give you the time, tells you how many calories burned, at the same time it can play your favourite tunes while you work out. Your pace can be adjusted for those who walk slower or faster. At the end of your workout, you just need to save the data and reset it, and after some days, you can view your progress using a graph in the app. It’s pretty neat. It’s definitely motivational to be able to track your own progress and know how much you’ve worked at. So give this app a try, if not try out the free pedometer apps out there. There are lots of them but they usually have limits, like limited to 3000 steps a day.
