Testing Joost

I recently got a Joost invite from someone on Twitter. The idea of watching Tv on the PC is great. Plus points, Joost can be used on Mac too. I tried testing Joost out on different computers, but it just turned me off quickly. Firstly, I think programming on Joost was ok. But if only I get to actually watch it?

On lousy Streamyx, Joost tv was really slow and stucky…I don’t know whose fault it really is though. I have not been able to watch a single show, here are some of the problems.

1) Slow and stucky – who wants to wait?

2) Sometimes, a few minutes into a show, it just stops playing and a message comes up that says the program is no longer available. What’s up with that?

3) A few times, I couldn’t even log in to Joost. Once it was because they changed the version or something, and the people at Joost actually sent an apology email with a link to the latest version for download. Ok that ran for a while, but a couple of days ago, I just can’t even start the software anymore.

Ok I ended up uninstalling Joost! I have another install at another PC, so maybe I’d try that later again. But one feeling out of this testing? Frustration. Also, there are no details on the website whether new beta testers get any invites to give out…coz my invites list were always at zero. Waiting for Joost to be better soon.
