Last week, Dr Sidney Kan from BigBoysOven announced that he was throwing a Bloggers BBQ Poolside Party and thanks to girlfriends Sherry and Jane urging me to go, I finally managed to ask Sidney in the middle of the night and got RSVPed for the party when it was already reaching the initial limit of 100 people. In the end, the party got really popular and massive that I heard 150 people went, that is nearly 60 bloggers and their families. Well, I am so glad I made it into the party as my family and I had the most amazing time there and met a lot of friends and bloggers. The bloggers got really excited planning what to wear, what to bring, some stories include mermaids and crazy bubble pool, water guns and more, coz bloggers are very creative you see.
Anyways, last Sunday we all prayed for clear and best weather but somehow it started pouring all across Klang Valley, that kind of caused floods in certain areas. We braved the weather, actually we just drove there from Kajang and by the time we reached, the rain nearly stopped to a drizzle, and the party must go on! Now you must wonder why we are so excited about this highly anticipated event, read on to find out why!
Once we registered with Nannie the amazing co-host, we saw Beautiful Miera getting beautiful flowers painted onto her beautiful face by a very talented Face Painter, Fannie Khiew of #fanniefaceart. This activity was initially arranged for the kids of bloggers, but guess what, the art was so awesome that we all started lining up for this! Thankfully Rane aka Wai Yee came along and gave the brilliant idea that we should take numbers instead so we didn’t have to stand there waiting for our turn and we get to try out other activities too.

Fannie is so good that I usually preferred to hide my fat arms but just for the night, I love to show off my arm.
Josiah my little artist was so impressed that he wanted to get one done for his face too, he talked to Fannie when everyone was already packing up and going home and she was so kind to paint this for him, not just on his little face but also on his arms, all the things boys love, spiders, webs and scorpions. Josiah went to sleep that night without washing his face so that he can dream of the creepy crawlies.
After done with the face paint, we checked out the Elegant Jewellery Studio workshop with Kelvin Gems jewels run by Angie. Some might deem this as a girl’s activity, but I think boys love doing this too. Josiah wanted to make me a bracelet, so sweet of him.
Kids will find this jewellery making easy to do using this special beads design board. Josiah likes to get everything symmetrical so this board is so helpful. He arranged all the beads that he chose before being given an elastic string with a sharp wire to thread through every bead, then only the staff will help him tie it up.
My end result bracelet is so beautiful and sparkly, I love it so much coz it was made with lots of love. I’m wearing this everyday wherever I go even to bed coz it’s really comfortable.
I just had to take one last pic of the flower paint with my new bracelet before washing it off.
Outside in the pool itself, we saw lots and lots of Red and Black balloons sponsored by #NYSTEAKSHACK . There were some treasure hunt games planned with Jewellery by Kelvin Gems hidden within some balloons. Everyone had a blast trying to find them precious stones, I wonder who found them?
Everyone got really excited when celebrity photographer Zung the Ninja Photographer came to set up his pop up studio.
Check out his amazing video, you’d believe this man is not only talented and gifted but really brave after watching this. His story from rags to riches is also super inspiring, from how he struggled and dropped out of uni and how he suddenly became the personal photographer of Anthony Robbins, the world renowned motivational speaker. Zung came to take Twilight shots and Black and White Portrait Shots of every blogger at the party, what an amazing opportunity for us.

This is what a Twilight shot look like of Miriam the gorgeous. Zung says in his interview : “A great photo is made up of a body, mind, and soul,†he explains. “The body is the camera, the mind lies in the art of photography itself, but the most important part is capturing the soul. A lot of photographers say that they capture moments, but you really need to capture the soul of a picture to accomplish this.†(Source)
This is so true of the pic above, he captures the soul and that’s what made the pic so beautiful. I can’t wait to see my pic! Another 9 days to go.
I thought we only get one profile pic, but actually Zung is so generous, he gave us all another profile pic with black and white style. His photographer is so energetic and lively, he really know to make us pose and angle our face the way he wants it. All these is done in a very short time, I’d say a matter of seconds!
A BBQ party is not complete without the BBQ in action! BBQ crew were from Bakarlah BBQ & Rental and they were cooking up a storm at the poolside, the smell made all the residence come down to check what was happening. Johan and team specialises in bringing BBQ to you ANYTIME and ANYWHERE, they do all the work so your guests can dine in style .

BBQ Prawns were large and so succulent. Josiah kept asking for more. Kids don’t get high cholesterol do they?
Jordan on the other hand loves the BBQ Mackerel, it was so juicy and the skin was crunchy, I had to tearfully sacrifice my portion all to Jordan. The chicken and lamb was to die for! I cannot find it anymore at 2nd round, that was how good it was. I guess when you have BBQ Kungfu, it really makes a difference. The crew know how to make it soft and juicy inside yet crunchy and delectable on the outside, the moisture is not lost, it is also a healthier way to cook like grilling, where the fat is less and the taste still packs a punch.
Initially, when we arrived, I saw these three cake boxes by Eastin Hotel PJ. I waited till someone had to open it and walaa and someone did, I dropped everything and rushed there to check it out.

This pasta meatball dish was made just for the kids and adults who felt like kids, this is from Eastin Hotel too. Josiah loved this being a noodle kind of person.

What’s awesome about a pool party of course, is the pool! The kids had a blast playing in the kiddie pool under the watchful eyes of the dad. My kids were the last to get out of that pool, that was how much they loved it.
We had so much fun until I completely forgot that there was a goodie bag until Nannie passed them to me. It was indeed like a surprise.
