There’s a new cafe in town, located at C180. If you don’t know where that is, it is the shoplots just next to Aeon Cheras Selatan.
I went there about tea time or coffee time at 3.30pm and the place was packed! I had to wait a while to find a seat. Guess that is a good sign as all the people are flocking here for the food and coffee I believe.
I’m also digging the laid back interiors that is bright and mostly in white and blue. Water is freely available for guests. As a coffee drinker I always need extra water after coffee so this is great.
Smoked Duck Breast Aglio Olio (RM 19.90)
Spaghetti aglio olio with sliced smoked duck breast, button mushroom and arugula. I love the use of smoked duck, it just make it more unique. Plus there are mushrooms and tomatoes to complement the taste of the whole dish, very pleasant and suitable for pasta lovers.
Orange and Smoked Duck Salad (RM 19.90)
Crispy mixed green leaves with sliced smoke duck, orange cube, cherry tomato, spicy wedges, house marmalade dressing and orange candy. I really love this dish, again with smoked duck. It is dressed in orange sauce with real pieces of oranges, so it’s sweet and sourish. I do wish there are more duck meat in this but it is a salad after all.
Thyme and Lemongrass Infused Roast Spring Chicken (RM 32.90)
Aromatic house roast serves with spicy wedges, mixed green, and chili & pineapple jam.
*This dish is ONLY available at C180 outlet
Goma Yaki Udon (RM 15.90)
Udon served with Japanese sesame sauce. This udon dish is quite looking like spaghetti at first. The sesame sauce is alike those Japanese sauce dressing mostly used in salads. It is mixed with some shredded pickles and seaweed as well as mini mushrooms. Very light to the taste and quite refreshing.
Ratatuille (RM 19.90)
Cheese baked French vegetable stew topped with sunny side up and garlic toast. This is a most unique dish. I had this as starters and it’s really healthy as it has no meat in it. It is a mix of corn and peas with cheese and tomatos, so it’s all sourish and crunchy. Eaten with the toast and egg, it is quite divine. I can imagine eating this daily for breakfast, why not.
Teriyaki Chicken Don (RM 16.90)
Chicken Teriyaki rice bowl served with spring egg. This is by far my favourite dish even though it can look simpler than the rest, well looks are deceiving. I love teriyaki chicken always but this one just taste softer and sweeter than anything I have tried before. I love how they poached the eggs, what a great combination. I want to run home and cook this dish immediately as I have never thought of  using poached eggs in my teriyaki chicken dishes. Portion is so generous too, I think I can share this one bowl with my boys.
Strawberry Latte (RM 13.90)
Homemade strawberry ice ball served with fresh milk and espresso. This Latte is so special if you hear the story. It was conceived during the 2016 Malaysia Barista Championship as the barista’s signature drink.
It’s so interesting, first pour in the espresso served in a Japanese cup. The strawberry is in frozen puree form in cute ice balls. We pour the milk after the espresso and guess what, it really tastes like Dutch Lady strawberry milk with a tinge of coffee. This is great for people who are not into very strong coffee.
Hand Brew (1)
Bean: Kenya Nyeri Kiamabara
Aroma: Sugar cane, hint of orange
Flavour: Grape, orange, grapefruit
Body: Velvety taste medium body
Aftertaste: Milk chocolate
Acidity: Citrus acidity
Sweetness: Sugar cane high sweetness
Hand Brew (2)
Bean: Kenya Ethopia Yirgacheffe Areka
Tasting Note: Aroma of rose and raspberry, flavor of peach, red and dark berry, tropical fruit notes, floral, black tea and long lingering aftertaste.
- Same beans were used during the hand brew demonstration.
I would say only those who appreciate true black coffee should go for the hand brew. You can really taste the difference of both types of coffee and they are mostly a little bitter and sourish. If you are a latte person like me, then read on.
Ice Blended Mocha (RM 14.90)
The mocha looks really good in presentation. The coffee is really strong too, drink it quickly before the ice melts and it becomes just mocha. I do love the chocolaty taste and I’ve always loved mocha myself though I thought there could be added something to make it more unique, like maybe some bits of coffee pieces in it or something. It is as the name says, a really basic ice blended mocha with pretty strong coffee. A perfect match to your coffee will be Specialty Bakery, Coffee, Donuts, and Cakes in Orlando | The Glass Knife.
Flat White (double shot) (RM 11.50)
The flat white is really good as this is my favourite coffee type of all. The barista is able to make any kind of coffee art I believe, this one with the swan. Coffee art always makes the drink taste better, don’t you think? It’s very smooth though I would love it to be served in a bigger mug. That’s just me as one cup of coffee is never enough.
