One of the most meaningful thing I did last year 2015 was the Bene Box Project. To give you an idea, this project was the brainchild of Tammy Lim, founder of The Butterfly Project Malaysia in partnership with Caffebene, one of the trendiest Korean cafes sprouting in Malaysia. Through this project, Butterflies were recruited to pack goodies in the form of anything a kid would love into a Bingsu takeaway plastic box to be presented to an individual child from the home of Yayasan Seribu Harapan Malaysia. We were given a list of names to pick the child we want to pack the gift box to, and the whole objective was to make a child smile this Christmas. So I picked an 11 year old boy and thought of all things my sons would like at that age, and got those stuffs for him. Actually, the bene box couldn’t fit all the stuffs I wanted to fit in but I guess it is alright, I really hope the boy likes the gifts.
The bene box packing event was held earlier in Caffebene IOI Mall Puchong, and all the beautiful butterflies were there, busy decorating the boxes and writing special messages. It was fun to do the packing with lovely gals Anis and Aliza, all the As.
Thanks to Caffebene, our morning was made brighter with their coffee and sandwiches. I had their cafe latte and it was just superb, the coffee roast is of great quality and literally woke me up like it said on the mug. I am now a fan of Caffebene and wished and wished a cafe opens nearer to Kajang soon.
So I packed and squeezed and this was my final outcome. I gave my boy a cap, balloons, sweets, stationary etc etc.
Since we were in Caffebene, we might as well have some Bingsu, and I actually learned how to eat Bingsu for the first time.
Choco Bene Bingsu turned out to be my favourite together with the Strawberry Bingsu. We girls really digged in and loved ever freezing bite of it.
Caffebene is also really famed for their Gelato, and I just had to try the green tea Gelato and it was the yumz. The right kind of creamy and the perfect green tea flavour. I totally enjoyed it stay tuned for my next post, Part 2 when I get to meet the kids for real and savour more of Caffebene food!
