Cashew Nut Milk as Alternative

I’m quite a Latte person but I’m also aware that too much dairy in my drinks ain’t gonna do me good. So I had been looking for some alternatives and low fat dairy doesn’t really cut it. Almond milk tastes great but they are quite a hassle to make. So enter Cashew Nut milk. I love eating cashews as it is, so making the milk should be great too. I was excited when I found out how easy it was. Here are the very easy steps.

1) 1 Cup Cashews raw
2) Add water to cover and leave overnight in the fridge
3) Drain the water and add 4 cups water
4) Optional ingredients: Honey, Cinnamon, Vanilla
5) Add your optional ingredients or non at all, with the water, just blend it. Blend about 30 secs until you see milk.
6) Drink up or store up to a week in the fridge, preferably in glass jars. Doesn’t matter.

The milk is basically nutty or tasteless. Takes some getting used to if you are used to the sweetness of full cream cow’s milk.

That’s it, I just use this milk for my morning protein shakes and also for my coffee/tea. I can’t imagine drinking my coffee black yet. For added sweetness, I use Stevia. You can read the review I made for one type of Stevia. I just got another bottle from iherb for only USD1!
