A couple days ago I received a call from Maxis. The customer service said Maxis would like to offer me a very special offer, to upgrade my Prepaid line to Postpaid, whereby I get to keep the number, I get RM10 rebate every month, and 500 free smses. Well at first I was pretty suspicious, coz the guy asked for my IC No and Mailing address. Didn’t Momma say don’t reveal your IC sewenang-wenangnya? So I asked back a lot of questions just to verify this is really Maxis as I didn’t know Maxis does this kind of direct telesales.
Finally, I agree to take it on, and today I’ve received my new Sim card through courier. So in a few days I will finally be on Postpaid after all the years of Prepaid! I think it’s gonna be cheaper for me, as it’s a RM30 monthly plan, which I actually need to pay only RM20 in this offer. Per call is at RM0.18 per minute compared to RM0.36 with Hotlink. Plus SMSing is free, so yea get prepared to receive more messages from me. Unfortunately, it’s only local SMS, forgot to ask how much will SMSes overseas cost.
This offer only runs for 1 year. I asked the guy what happens after one year, and he promised, PROMISED that I will be given new offers and promotions after 1 year, let’s see if they keep to their word.
