In Loving Memories

Fellow uni mate and Perkebian and old friend, Nimrod, fondly known as Nim passed away this morning at midnight in Kudat after a road mishap. He left behind two kids and his wife.

I heard the news this morning through my John, and I couldn’t even come to terms with it then. I probably haven’t seen Nim since we graduated nearly 10 years ago. Last May when we went to KK, we wanted to meet up with him but didn’t have his number.

I know Nim followed my blog closely, in fact he was just at my blog yesterday. I feel regrets as I was so busy with motherhood that I didn’t even find the time to reply his comments on my blog, I hadn’t even replied to his wall post on facebook. It’s all too late now isn’t it.

Tonight I am remembering him as memories came flooding back. I will always remember him as this cheeky guy, fun loving and friendly, who’s got a gift in music. He’s a God fearing man, and for the past months had started chronicling this spiritual journey with God in his now defunct blog. I know that he is in a better place now…but death is like that isn’t it, those left behind on this earth can’t help but miss the fella. At least I know I will meet him again in heaven. The song lyric, “You give and take away” keeps playing in my head. Let us never take life or each other for granted…but cherish each and every living moment, while investing in eternity. In the words of Nim found on his recent entries on his blog:

“I read today that we are made to live in eternity. Have you ever feel wanting to live eternally? To live forever? That’s because actually we are created to live forever. Where? After death, I only know 2 places that human will go. Heaven and hell. I prefer the first one. For those of you who have a third option, I wish you all the best to accomplish it (I doubt it though).”

For those that know him, do continue to pray for his family especially his wife and 2 boys. I just cannot imagine how life would be for them without him, but let’s all pray for supernatural strength for them to get through each day.

  1. Hi there Leona …
Yeah… we gonna miss Nimrod very much. Up to now, I still can’t take the news. It happened so fast, I honestly not ready for it.

I just wish his family all the best, especially the wife and small children. So sad 🙁
