The recent internet disruptions last year has certainly taken away my interest in updating this blog….I find that when one stops blogging…the year speeds by faster. You’re not keeping up with the dates, what has happened in life etc. Anyways, I just found time to sit down and upload some old pics…specifically of food.
Erm yum…Beggar’s chicken in Banting…
Some time last December, we took my new baby for a long ride…all the way to Banting in search for the infamous Beggar’s chicken. Little did I know that one need to book way in advance in order to get the privilege to eat there, the place which is called Bukit Jugra Beggar’s Chicken. Hhm, my colleague failed to inform me of that…
So off we drove so far to get there, it was like nearly an hour plus plus. Ok I can’t remember at all…reaching Banting town, we had to stop by some grocery store to ask some uncle how to get there. Apparently the place is quite deep at the mountain area where the temple is. So getting there, we were so excited. There was so many people there, loads of food on the table.
Unfortunately, only then we found out that they do not welcome walk ins. One has to call in to make booking for the chicken and other dishes, that must be how good business is for them. Boy I was EXTREMELY disappointed…considering the miles driven. Never mind, we walked away pulling the longest face possible and drove to the other restaurant just around the corner…some seafood restaurant we saw on the way to Bukit Jugra. Reaching there, we felt like we could eat the whole place. So we ordered many dishes….the chicken above being one of it…and some more…
The lala is so big!!
Oh the chicken was well, so hyped. Coz it’s really just like herbal chicken you can get anywhere…even my mum does better 😛 But yea, all the food was great. Plus the view there was fantastic too.
So even though we couldn’t get into the infamous store…the second choice is still great.
Yummy foods!
