Thanks to PERKEB

Perkeb 30 years anniversary

Last Saturday, I attended this 30 years anniversary of PERKEB; PERKEB being our Christian Fellowship organisation in UKM. After leaving UKM for 4 years, it was the first time I went back to PERKEB. They organised a sort of reunion dinner at Danau Golf Club, previously known to us at KRU. It was extensively done with so many programmes, one after another, from ice breakers, to dinner, to multimedia shows, drama and dances. I don’t think any of the gang from my year came, but did get to meet up a few juniors.

I was quite glad to see that PERKEB seems to be doing quite well, and the people having lots of fun as they learn the road of life from each other and from God. Although, throughout the night, I made jest of the host and other stuff, like the fantastically made drama….

It was supposed to be sad, but I can’t help laughing at the comedy of it all and the storyline, where it talks about a mother with an eye, and the son hating her for that. In the end he found out she lost her eye to him as he had an accident when he was young, and she gave him her eye. It was talking about sacrificial love just as Jesus sacrificed and died on the Cross for us.

We even saw male tambourine dancers! Ok so it’s not supposed to be such a weird thing…but didn’t manage to take a pic of them. I only took of Melvin and Beng with their flags.

It was fun and the multimedia show very memorable, and I even received a bomb 😛 So I pray PERKEB will continue to touch many lives of the UKM students years to come.
