Stephanie, Li-Ann and Adeline can’t wait to Loh
Chinese New Year has not even started yet, but the feasting has already begun. The Young Adults Carecell in our church had a feasting good time to celebrate this occasion, and what could get us more in the mood than to Loh Yee Sang! Actually, this tradition of eating Yee Sang during Chinese New Year is apparently created by Malaysian and Singaporean Chinese, and not a passed down tradition of old. It involves everyone at the table mixing up this dish made of raw fish slices, some crunchy stuff and all kinds of rojak ingredients and sauces, sometime with abalone as well, using their chopticks, while laughing and making sure it looks a mess later. Supposedly, this is a fun past time of us Malaysians. 😛
Us YA people getting in on the action!
Lots of hahas later, we sit down to eat the dish, a bit sourish taste, like Acha that you put on the keropok…We carried on and feasted on 8 different dishes which included vege, fish, herbal soup, chicken etc. Yum…all this for only RM15.10 per person at Old Man’s Restaurant in Sg Chua.
