Alamanda Shopping Mall
Alamanda Shopping Mall is the latest of many mushrooming shopping malls in Malaysia. This one is special as it’s the first mall in Putrajaya. Putrajaya is the federal territory being made into the centre of Malaysia’s governance. It’s got great street lamps and cyber looking buildings, but before, it was a very quiet place with hardly any attractions, but places like the Prime Minister’s ‘white house’ to offices of mega companies which looked bigger than it should…
But now, Putrajaya is really growing and blooming, I heard traffic jams can happen there too! Anyways, the mall was reviewed in the papers today, so thought I’d go take a look. It is quite small, just 2 storeys, but very spacious. I love its designs and feel of the whole place. Not many shops have been opened, nevertheless the place looks promising to be Putrajaya’s busiest hang out place. Already, there was quite a crowd there, mostly going to Carrefour. And of course, Rotiboy. There was actually a never ceasing line at the Rotiboy counter from the time I went till the time I left. Of course, I couldn’t resist the smell myself and got myself one too.
Overall, a really nice “lepak” destination as there were many coffee outlets such as Starbucks, Secret Recipe, etc and lots of big benches when your feet grow weary. The fact that it is not busy like KL is a also a plus…and not so far away from little Kajang too…
erm… kajang not that little anymore… all sorts of highways everywhere. i still remember it from when I was a little boy. you can’t believe how much it has changed.
hey – the mall is great. I was there some days before the official opening. Check out the pics at my blog (If you want 🙂
