Educate 2004 in Riverside

My name tag

The reason I came back to Kuching as becoz I had to attend a conference (well, there must be some reason to spend the huge amount of air fare money). The conference was called EduCATE 2004 with the theme as ” Transforming Teacher Education in the Face of Globalisation”. It was held in Crowne Plaza and organised by UNIMAS.

This was my first international conference ever, and I was one of the presenters, so I was freaking nervous thruout the entire thing. My paper was to be presented on the first day as the last paper, but in the last minute, Dr Ng from UNIMAS decided to swap his time with mine, so I was second last.

THe entire time I kept praying that I won’t make a fool of myself, so when it was my turn, I didn’t feel all too nervous. But I didn’t manage to say all the things I had prepared to say. I had with me a small bunch of cards that I had written my notes on, but I didn’t even look at it. So, in the end, I just said whatever came to mind, and left lots of stuff out. But thank God anyways that I didn’t look too much like a fool

Anyways, like any other conference, I was made to carry a pretty tasteless brown bag. There’s a snapshot of the name tag I was made to wear, and some other goodies. All in all, it was quite an experience and I think it made me feel more ready for the next conference in Dec.

  1. Hi Mei Ling aka Leona, it’s Adeline here Stumbled upon your website through many clicks of the mouse thru blogs! Imagine that huh? such a small world.

Read with much nostalgia and happy sentimental memories your entry abour Euro 1996. To tell you the truth, I was thinking about you all during the recent Euro 2004 in Portugal. About the portfolio, I really must say I don’t know where it is!! Do I still have it?

Anyways, have a look at my blog de27.blogspot.com, how do i link up your blog to mine? still quite a “newbie” at this
