McDonalds Kajang..where is that fantastic service?

I used to enjoy going to Mcdonald’s in Kajang, the only McD we have, sadly. In my opinion, they used to pride themselves with great service, service with a smile no matter what the circumstance, the crew are always neat in their uniforms, sometimes they go the extra mile by coming out of their counters to talk to you, pour you drinks, even bringing your tray to your table. Well, that’s like a thing of the past when I went there last week.

John wanted to collect the whole set of Madagascar toys, which is why we went there in the first place. So far, we only have the Lion. So we went during dinner time when the lines are quite long.

Everytime, there were about 4 other persons in front of you when you join the line. So, the service was quite slow, but only 2 counters were open. Nobody seemed to want to open another counter.

So when it was our turn to order, we were serviced by a stressed looking non-smiling crew, let’s call him FIFI. We ordered the Happy Meal to get the free toy, but he brought out the Lion toy. We asked him if there was any others since we already have that one, so he just no more. However, it wasn’t what he said but the way he said it, with creased eye brows and a frown and seemingly frustrated that we would ask such a question. Like we were taking up his time… seeing that he was quite rude, we canceled the order. Now, as far as I understood, this kind of service used to be not tolerated in Mcd…so whatever happened?

While we were in the restaurant, I also noticed certain crews that weren’t even wearing the uniform. There was also a case when a woman was going out the door, and one of the delivery crew was returning from wherever he delivered to. She opened the door herself, and we thought the delivery crew would let her walk first, but instead, he walked in himself ignoring her standing there. In McD, they used to station people to open doors for customers, not allow customers to open doors for them.

The delivery crews were also quite an eyesore as they parked their bikes just outside the main entrance on the walk way and they ‘lepak’ (sit around) on their bikes, smoking and chatting, blocking people that want to walk along the pathways. Is this the image McD is trying to portray?

I also wished that McD in Malaysia would start offering a healthier and lighter menu, like in some other countries, where they have Multigrain buns, yogurt and uncle toby’s and they have great coffee like iced lattes, mochas and smoothies. We’re getting bored with our menu here. Where’s the innovation?
What happened to customers always come first?

  1. The delivery guys usually have a bad attitude. I think they employed Mat Rempits as their delivery guy because they always weave in and out of traffic.

I used to frequent McD Kajang too. The place street is deserted night. The Mat Rempits hanging outside make you feel more unsafe
