THE MPO CELEBRATES RACHMANINOFF’S 150TH BIRTHDAY!
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) celebrates the 150th birthday of renowned classical composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in concerts themed ‘Happy Birthday Rachmaninoff’ on Saturday, 1 April 2023 at 8.30 pm (sold out) and Sunday, 2 April 2023 at 3.00 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. The concerts are part of the MPO’s 25th anniversary this year which celebrates glorious masterpieces from the classical music world. All abroad with the MPO as gleeful globetrotters and intrepid travelers explore the rhythms, melodies and musical traditions of faraway lands. MPO’s Symphonic Anime at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas
Last weekend, the MPO was back to perform not one, but four anime concerts! It was proven that anime fans are not just lovers of the art and story of anime, but are equally lovers of the music of anime. The Symphonic Anime was originally planned for 1 night concert but due to popular demand, it turned into four sold out concerts from 26 Aug to 28 Aug with a full capacity of over 3,600 people (920 people per concerts).
