Ola Bola Move With Live Music at the MPO Review
Ola Bola is a Malaysian movie inspired by true events. It was released in 28 January 2016, and I must admit, I did not get to catch it until last week. Maybe it was meant to be, as I get to watch it for the first time, big screen with a Live Orchestra. Not just any orchestra but the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. After a week is nearly over, I can still feel that magic in the air. Let me tell you why. First things, the movie is amazingly beautiful, of international standards, acting and storyline wise. I love the whole thing and devoured the whole seamless performance. OlaBola was hugely…

The Listener with Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Review
The Listener was part of Family Fun Day programme at the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP). I always try to bring the kids to enjoy and appreciate the orchestra whenever there is a great programme on. I was really glad to have gone to this one. I was thrilled to note the selection of the pieces for the day which featured some of my favourite composers. I noticed there were more adults than usual that came without children. I suspect it must have been the work of Harry Porter. The show started with the mime from Magic Circle Mime appearing from the entrance. For your information, mime artists act out their…

Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Family Fun Day with The Bear
I was so excited to date my youngest boy Jordan to watch this show, The Bear accompanied by The Malaysian Philharmoic Orchestra. The orchestra was conducted by Harish Shankar. I always love MPO’s Family Fun Day, not only because I can bring my boys to enjoy it but also the lighter format of how things are presented. Conductors are not only great in waving their wands, but they are actually really great presenters. Harish lifted the mood of the hall and captured the attention of all the young ones. Harish is the Winner of the 6th International Jorma Panula Conducting Competition, he has been featured in Classical Music Magazine, interviewed…
