    Hamper goodness Koci

    February 17, 2008 / 1 Comment

A couple of days ago, John’s boss gave him some stuff from a hamper the company received, and some of the food he brought back had very nice packaging. Amongst them is this cute box of Kuih Koci. What is Kuih Koci? Malaccans would know, since that’s where it originates. The nice box had all the stories and history written on it. Kuih Koci normally looks like this, wrapped with banana leaf in a corn shape. This being a packaged product, it comes in plastic wrapping. There are even four different flavours of Kuih Koci inside the box; Green Tea, Red Bean, Black Glutinous Rice, and Black Sesame. In truth…

Dahaitsu Terios…mirror of the next Perodua Kembara

    February 15, 2008 / 3 Comments

When I was in Kuching, I spotted a Daihaitu Terios from Indonesia. We don’t get Daihatsu Terios here in Malaysia, as Perodua has collaborated with Daihatsu to sell it as Perodua Kembara. The Toyota Versions are called Toyota Rush. News from Paultan.org says that it will be out by mid 2008. I couldn’t catch a single nice pic of the Terios, but truth be told, if this is how the new Kembara looks like…it is going to be one sweet car. Size wise, it is pretty big. With my sis driving, we chased the Terios across the streets of Kuching to catch a better picture, like paparazzi. Whoever was driving…

    Open house during CNY

    February 14, 2008 / 1 Comment

In Malaysia, it is common for most major festivities to have open houses, from Hari Raya Puasa, to Deepavali, to Christmas, and Chinese New Year as well. I remember having a day of major open house during the Chinese New Year celebrations for as long as I had been living, and I had never missed it. My parents usually invite all their buddies to our house on the first day, and tonnes of people would come. My mum would cook up a storm and serve the food ala buffet style. This year, my mum cooked, Curry lamb, ‘Ka ca ma Chicken’, Red wine chicken, fried brocolli, Ham rolled chicken and…

All the red in the new year

    February 14, 2008 / 2 Comments

Usually, my graphic design sister, Creeart will do the decorations in the house for Chinese New Year. She normally comes out with some Cartoon character hand drawn, of the animal of the year, Rats for this year. However, since she’s in confinement, I had to do some kind of deco for the house. I’m not really creative in drawing fine arts and drawing from scratch, so all I did was download some cute Rats from Deviantart and print them. My eldest sister also bought those generic red and gold house deco from the shops. So I just simply stick them around the living room, with some red packets and hanging…
