Dazzling Piano Masterpieces By The MPO
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will charm audiences in its upcoming concerts at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) under the leadership of Peruvian conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya, breathing fresh new interpretations on symphonic works on Friday, 14 October 2016 and Saturday, 15 October 2016 at 8.30 pm. MAESTRO ASHKENAZY RETURNS TO THE PODIUM AT DEWAN FILHARMONIK PETRONAS!
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will continue to dazzle fans of classical music when it presents a startling all-Russian musical works on Friday, 30 September 2016 and Saturday, 1 October 2016 at 8.30 p.m. at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. The MPO will open the concerts with Rimsky-Korsakov’s rousing Russian Easter Overture, Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme and will close the showcases with Shostakovich’s ode to the horrors of war, Symphony No.8 in C minor. It is a symphony that spoke of tragedy and the bitter sufferings that comes in its wake. The one-hour work was premiered in 1943 by the State Symphony Orchestra in Russia.
