Butterfly Malaysia x Caffebene Bene Box Project Part 2

Untitled

Whatever happened to the Bene Boxes that the many beautiful butterflies packed for the children of Yayasan Seribu Harapan that I wrote about the last time? A week after our packing project in IOI Mall, some of the Butterfly Project Bloggers or butterflies met back at Gamuda Walk Caffebene to meet and hangout with the children, have some gelato together and present them with gifts.

I arrived really early so I thought why not have some yummy waffles and gelato while waiting for the kids. I was blown away by this waffles topped with espresso gelato! I always loved waffles but this waffle is like DOUBLE THUMBS UP! The waffle was warm and crunchy and with the espresso gelato mixed in, it just melts in the mouth, seriously the best best best I ever had.

The sweetness was washed down with a caramel Frappeno, their version of a ice blended coffee, and it was super smooth too, totally blended with strong creamy coffee.

Kak Ella had this Whipped Cream topped Chocolate Banana Waffles, which looked so temptingly good. I should try this next time.

However, this post ain’t about just the food, it’s about the kids! I met some wonderful boys, in fact I sat with five of them and they so reminded me of the kids I used to work with in FGA Orphanage. We clicked immediately, and they were all cute and intelligent kids.

Caffebene treated the kids to a gelato of their choice..and it was fun watching them gobble up the ice cream and being so cheeky, they even started mixing up the different flavours and then making it into milkshake to drink with a straw.

It was nice to note that the older boys would take care of the younger ones, and they really stick close like brothers. (photo credit to Caffebene)

It was a memorable time indeed and I really look forward to having my next cup of coffee there and join another Butterfly event.

  1. Glad you bonded well with the kids as I’m sure they could tell vwey well that you are a kind motherly figure. Exactly what they needed for Christmas.
