WiMAX towers

I had been wondering how WiMAX towers look like. Supposedly, lots of towers need to be built in order to cover the whole of Malaysia with the WiMAX technology. I haven’t noticed any in and around where I live as my area is not covered yet. And since I seldom go to KL and those coverage areas, I haven’t really opened my eyes and look. I wonder if P1 installs the antennae on towers or high rise buildings as some do.

In Malaysia, maybe our WiMAX towers will look like this which is used as Telecommunication towers in KL city.

It would be good to hide those eye sore towers as trees…one thing Malaysia is smart for doing. If what analysts say are true, Malaysia may have 1.5 million WiMAX users in 5 years time. If that’s the case, there has got to be quite a lot of towers and repeaters all over the place. Hopefully, at that time, it won’t overcrowd the view of the beautiful skyline if WiMAX companies smartly thought out ways to install the antennae.

  1. Apparently, there’s one of those ‘trees’ in Taman Jaya. But it’s unconfirmed if it is a Wimax tower.
