CNY is the only time I get to go back to Kuching, yet it kinda sucks because all the good shops are closed, I’m talking about the food here. The best of Kuching’s Kolo mee, Laksa etc are all closed for business a few days before CNY and goes on a few days more after. Obviously, being the best, they’ve already made enough money to survive not running the business for more than a week. So, on the day before I had to come back to Kajang, which was the 5th day of CNY, supposedly when most businesses are opened, we went hunting for Laksa. One shop to another, they are all closed. Finally we settled at King’s centre, and found this shop which was also finishing up.
No more special Laksa, no more big prawns. So we had to take the small and normal ones. The Laksa took forever to arrive, as there were so many people waiting. When it did arrive, it was a little diluted. Laksa is all about the soup and the paste. They are probably are running out of the soup and just added water to it to make customers happy.
We had to wait really, really long. Another shop a few feet away was having a Lion dance performance.
At least some entertainment while waiting.
URgh I’m stretching my neck and still can’t reach the Cabbage!
wait a minute, you’re from kuching but staying in kajang now? I’m from kajang but currently in Sarawak, near kuching for studies. what are the odds eh?
Hehe…how do you like Kuching? Must be nice eh….
yeah, especially since there’s more ethnic in sarawak to mix with. and i like going to the river front especially during night time although the new DUN building is kinda distracting the view. sarawakian girls are beautiful too haha.
