I’ve been making myself busy the whole of this week, trying to build a speedy site for a this indie band, Crown of Thorns, as they call themselves. I don’t usually do sites for free, but seeing that they needed some kind of publicity, and don’t have any money, I decided, why not la, I’ll just whip up something simple.
I decided to just use Blogger since it’s free and doesn’t have much limitations, very customisable in terms of the template as well. Little did I know I was in for more that just whipping up a site, I found myself having to do a little more publicity by putting up their music on online sites for new bands. I found Purevolume to be pretty good, but takes some time to approve the band.
Then, there is something local called I-Band Msia, especially for indie bands of Malaysia. I can upload up to 15MB of mp3s, can stream it or make it downloadable as well. Do check out Crown of Thorns’ site on I-band.
Overall, it’s been great fun to do something a little different than just me and my blog. Haven’t really completed the site yet, there’s still much to be done, like their profiles, pics etc. I must say, this band is really raw and new, and they haven’t got any professional recording done yet, just home recording. So, if you’ve got a reviewer’s mind, do head over to the site and give your two cents on their music and the site and some constructive comments ya. Cheers!
Hi again,
Off topic but you’re in Kch right? Where did you get the Panasonic for that price in kch? The price I mentioned is actually Panasonic staff price and not in Kch but in KL. I went to your photosite, are those pictures of you cats etc taken wth the Panasonic? Wow they’re great!
oh, BTW, the link you gave to I band msia doesn’t work? Goes to a search page instead.
Hi Y,
no I’m not in Kch. Just went back for hols. Yes, i know the price you mentioned is staff price, in fact very near cost price. I happened to know the Panasonic Master Dealer, see. 😛 And yes those pics of the super cute cats are taken my PanaFZ3. So are all the foodies pics. It’s really a great cam, I tell ya. It’s got great features that most consumer SLR dun have, in fact it’s got all the Prosumer features just toned down and in a plastic case.
About the link, sorry bout that. It has been amended. Typo….
this camera is actually less than staff price in singapore, go figure. everything’s so expensive in Msia.
anyway i’m already convinced i want it so i’ll get it next week maybe.
yes for sure it is less ex in our neighbouring country. I did consider getting it there, but then due to reasons of inconvenience, warranty purposes etc. decided to get it locally. Not a huge difference anyways…Do share your future experiences and photos somewhere ya.
i went out looking for it today but couldn’t find a single shop selling this model. i guess it’s so popular it sold out, either that or there wasn’t enough units to go around.
by the time i do go to KL, there may be a new model out (i hope!) maybe the fz4 with 4 megapixels! that’d be real cool. So i think i will hold out since i can’t find it right now. Who knows, just like you waited before getting the fz2, i may get the fz4! LOL had i found it here, i would have bought it though.
Dear Y,
where’s your location? Anyways, it’s not that it’s so popular it’s sold out. Panasonic is pretty choosy about who sells their cams, so it’s only in certain authorised dealer stores. Check the Panasonic website to get the dealer list for whatever your location is.
