Sarawak laksa

sarawak laksa

Talking about food makes me hungry, so I might as well talk about the infamous Sarawak Laksa. Over in West Malaysia, this dish can be found in certain restaurants and some coffee chops with migrated Sarawakians, but always diluted. This is probably the most expensive Sarawak famous mee dishes. Comes above RM3, sometimes up to RM5 if you want it ’special’.

I had never liked it when I was younger…but being away from it for such a long time, made me love it and proud of it. It’s a bit spicy, and very different from the laksas you find in West. The paste is usually made at somebody’s home, the manufacturer that is. Baked in the sun for hours. Beautiful dish, love it.

The best thing about a Sarawakian laksa is the prawn. Nowadays in Kuching, you can get what we called “Big Prawn Laksa”… which is basically laksa with enormous prawn. Its divine!

hello, came across your blog while searching for info on the Panasonic digicam.

    wahhhh those laksa pictures…. *salivating*

BTW I also wanna get the Panasonic FZ3, I may pick it up pretty soon too since there’s a current promo going on. SO you’ve got the FZ2? Have you ever tried it with an MMC card?

hi y, i actually bought the FZ3 not the FZ2. Luv this fantastic cam! Haven’t tried it with an MMC card, but supposed to work just fine. I prefer to use SD Card, since it’s all cheap now. How much are you getting for it?

    leona,

i hope to get it for Rm1550 with free tripod, 128MB SD card and carry bag (current pana promo), how much did you get your cam?

I asked about the mmc card because there’s a phone shop nearby selling mmc cards for dirt cheap (stock clearance).
