Christmas at the Park was rawking
Last Saturday, Christmas @ Park was held again for the 5th year at Sunway Amphitheatre, however, only the first time I planned to go. I decided to go a little early (not too early by the time I arrived) to eat some Kolo Mee.
By the time we finished, we took a long walk to the Lagoon. Previously, I had been able to access the Amphitheatre thru the lagoon, but not so this time, it seems they’re trying to build Pyramid 2.
So it was another long walk back, take the bike and go to the Elephant Walk. Halfway there, it started drizzling. Man, Thank God I had my raincoat jacket.
We walked the Elephant Walk, passing by many Elephants with the butts facing us. Anyways, the C@P ushers were fantastic. They had to brave the rain and greet the visitors, with warm smiles and sincere greetings.
Altho it was quite late by the time we grabbed our seats, there weren’t many people around yet. I saw most people had adorned the Grace White and Red shirts. I hit myself on the head for not getting it earlier as there was a stall outside selling it. Coz you know, by the time the show finished, there were only the XS sizes left. We were also given plastic fans, say is it to fan away the flies?
So, worship was just starting, it was all very lively. The rain then was just starting to get really heavy, but people were still coming… they filled the whole place, maybe there were more than a thousand of them.
There were some games going on, according the Ps Kenneth, the pass the time. Some of the bands and musicians that performed were like er…I can’t remember already! I can only remember Altered Frequency (oops) who performed 3 songs, their new Christmas single, Joy to the World, Missing Piece and Jesus Party. IT was quite good, safe for the bad sound system, open air after all. Nevertheless, it got many people dancing on their feet in worship.
Then the Speaker came, Ps Isaac Joe from India. I must say, at this time, many people got up to leave, I’m not sure why. Ps Isaac is a singing evangelist, he sings and preaches at the same time. His message was very direct and clear, and at the end of the night he gave an invitation to accept Christ without the altar call. I stole glimpses around, and praise God saw quite a number of people raising up their hands. Praise God!
Anyways, he later gave away free VCDs of his recorded live concert. I bought a CD from ALtered Frequency, really cheap anyways at RM20, got a free poster from that. I wonder if I should keep the CD or give it away. There were only four of them hanging around the counter at the time, I think David G and Nicholas were still on stage playing for the fantastic choir (Did I not mention a fantastic choir earlier), so in the end there were only 4 autographs on the poster and the CD cover. Man, there were many many people surrounding them and asking for autographs. Must have been overwhelming.
Back to the choir, they were really really good. Ps Sandra, Ps Kenneth’s wife led in a few songs, and she’s got quality. They sang some Christmas carols in their own style.
Thank God again, by the time the show finished, the rain totally stopped. Walking back to the car park was a horrendous experience, up the hilly walk. It just killed me legs!
I do hope they will organise one again next year.
