Maxis’s inconsistencies is getting worse. Here’s my experience with ever since I port in to Maxis from the much better DIGI.
1) First, I hate that Maxis has two customer service. Call 123 for the free customer service for those using postpaid line. For hotlink users, call 123 and get kicked out, we have to call the 1300 number which we get charged on our prepaid line. Unless we use telekom landline. My husband has 2 Maxis postpaid line, and sometimes I use his phone to call Maxis. But once I mention Hotlink, it’s a taboo word for them. Suddenly they will say, oh I can’t help you. Please call Hotlink customer service, even though in fact they can, since I was just making some enquiries of Maxis.
2) Maxis dealers and customer service always give answers to chase customers away. Recently I got my new phone but the 3g and MMS is not activated after a long time, after they told me it will take 1 hour. So I called customer service, and the girl happily told me to go to any Maxis MEP. She asked where is my location and promptly directed me to go the one in Metro Kajang. So today I went there, and asked the dealer to set it for me. All the dealer can do is key in *100# and told me to wait. I told I already did that myself, and the customer service told me that only worked for other phones, not the iPhone which need the MEP to do a manual setting, whatever that is. The dealer guy keep telling me, “We are just dealer la, we cannot do anything, please go to Maxis centre”. So I told him, I’m going to call customer service and ask them why they ask me to come here. So I sat there and made the call, and a very blur girl answered who repetitively tell me one thing, “We can’t do setting on the phone, please go to Maxis centre”, which I kept telling her, “I’m not asking for any setting, I’m asking why customer service waste me time asking me to go to MEP (dealer) when MEP said they can’t do anything”. However, she kept answering the same thing, until I was fed up, I told her I want to make a complaint. Then only she suddenly buck up, and said ok, I will lodge that for you. I told her I want an answer back why Maxis Customer service keep giving me conflicting answers and mess up my schedule, wasting my time. Well, while I was blasting at her, I guess the dealer guy heard me, and when I ended the call, I was ready to leave, but he suddenly ask me to pass him my phone. So I did, which then he walked to the back computer and started doing something. Within 1 minute, he came back with my phone with the 3g activated! I took one look, said thank you and left. I was too tired to ask him questions some more, as most probably he will only make up stories and give pathetic excuses.
But here’s what I’m getting at. Apparently, these Maxis dealers can do all the things that Maxis Centres can, but they are too lazy to do it. This was the same case with the MNP, when I wanted to port in to Maxis, they also tried chasing me away to Maxis centre. Now how many people have so much time on their hands to drive to Maxis centres, so far away for Kajang people. Maxis you really did it again!

I have been looking for someone to write a article such as this. I’ve ultimately found it after searching Google. Appreciate it!
