Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) is proud to announce a groundbreaking initiative called Generasi DFP in supporting the music and arts landscape in Malaysia.
For over 25 years, DFP has stood as a beacon of arts and culture in Kuala Lumpur, hosting illustrious artists and groups of variety of music genres and artistic expressions. Through Generasi DFP, this year DFP aims at providing a platform for singers and songwriters, and aspiring musicians to come forward and showcase their undiscovered talents.
This initiative was launched in March and garnered a strong interest from all over the country and a total of 100 audition videos were received from artists/bands ranging from 18 to 30 years old. Through a selection process by a panel of DFP jury, 15 artists/bands were shortlisted to present their debut concerts at DFP. They bring various music genres which surely will add a variety of artistry colours on the DFP stage.
The full list of the shortlisted solo artists are Fadzly, Syiqin Azln, Ruhil Ariana Wilson, Ee Vone, Ruebben Chelvan, Dekwa Cuwa, Amrita Soon, Khalyn Mulyani, Jo Lixian and Mardiana, while the selected bands are Meruked, LOKO, Saiko Rama, Cherry On Top and Sounds Like Sunday. They will perform in three series of concerts.
The first concert is scheduled on Wednesday, 24 July 2024 at 8.30 pm and will feature Fadzly, Syiqin Azln, Ruhil Ariana Wilson, Ee Vone and LOKO.
Indie band LOKO consists of four talented artists. The music video for its debut single Pujaan Hati garnered 1.6 million views on YouTube which became a catalyst for a debut album, Mata Kaca, produced in 2019. The song Gundah Gulana was shortlisted in Anugerah Lagu Indie.
Ee Vone is a talented singer and songwriter whose music are more inclined towards the R&B, pop and soul genres. She has produced 8 singles since 2022 besides participating in many gigs in her hometown in Penang.
25-year-old Syiqin Azln produced an EP entitled Selamat Pulang which caught the attention of music lovers besides her involvement in showcases such as RIUH, Kuala Lumpur. Her composition Pelangi Kembali was chosen as the original soundtrack for a TV drama.
Fadzly a 27-year-old singer, is a staunch advocate of Malay traditional music and has an immense experience in singing competitions in his hometown Johor. He has won the ‘I Can See Your Voice’ competition.
Ruhil Ariana Wilson has completed her classical piano study with distinction result and a recipient of a high achiever award from Cambridge International Examinations before enrolling for courses from Berklee Online. At 19, she always performs her works with her favourite keyboard.

The upcoming Generasi DFP concerts are scheduled on 25 September 2024 and 20 November 2024.
Generasi DFP is a testament to our commitment in fostering a vibrant music community and to be the stage for local talents to shine. DFP invites our youths on a journey of discovery and an amazing celebration of music.
