Last Saturday turned out to be the most eventful day ever. As usual, it was an early rise for us to prepare for the kittens, feeding and cleaning. We had a wedding that morning to attend in KL, near to KLCC. So, we took the MYVI thinking it will be a more comfortable ride. I had all things planned out, to attend the church wedding in KL Wesley, then the Lunch in Tai Thong, then to rush back to church by 2pm to open up the church for the worship team’s practice, then to rush out to Marriot before the service ends for another wedding dinner. It didn’t quite turn out like that.
Before setting off into the highway, we decided to get a tyre check for pressure, got it done at the Petronas along the highway. The machine was rather faulty, and it took close to 5 minutes for one tyre to reach its pressure. Then we left and got to the church wedding just in time. Managed to witness the bridal march and all that. Met up a few friends there and we head up to Tai Thong straight after. As usual for Chinese weddings, the food is never served on time. From 12pm, we waited to about 1.15pm before the actual lunch started. Due to the late start, we managed to only leave the restaurant at 2.25pm thinking we will need to rush back to Kajang in time by 3pm.
That’s when all things start to get a bit haywire.. got to the parking lot and my car won’t start. Apparently, the battery is flat already. It was quite unexpected as my car had not even turned 2 years old. Basked in the hot sun, it was quite a desperate time. I had to make some calls to get emergency backup to open up the church, while John looked up the restaurant parking attendant for help.
Eventually, after something like 30 min, some jockeys came to help, of course, asking for some tips. We gave them RM10 to help start and push the car, which managed to move, so feeling relieved, we set out on our journey back. Unfortunately, by the time we reached Tesco Kajang’s junction, the engine failed again, right in front of the traffic lights. So we were stuck, and caused a long jam behind us. Cars had to maneuver to avoid us. No one got down to help or push the car, even someone we know drove past and only called but never stopped to help. Finally, John the pushed the car and I got behind the wheels and we tried to move the car to the next road where it won’t cause a jam. While doing that, I saw a car stop in front of us, and a stranger got down to offer his help. Thank God for him, we got the engine moving again after pushing it, then I managed to get to church by 4.10pm, while John sent the car to a workshop.
At the workshop, they found that the battery was out, and had it changed for RM178. While doing that, John got a call from his sister, that his brother got into an accident. Apparently, he was coming back from work on John’s motorbike, and a girl driving a Volvo banged into him sideways, throwing him off the bike. So John had to rush off to the hospital where he was at, and he got five stitches on the palm. The crazy girl was also only willing to pay half of the motorbike repair fees even though she caused the accident.
Praise God that was the end of the incidents. We took Lydia and Fion to the evening wedding of my cell member, Heloise, and we managed to get through the dinner without further incidents. It was a pretty crazy day, but I still want to give God glory that at the end of the day, we can still give thanks and praise Him regardless of circumstances.

wow… one crazy day indeed.
could it be because of the alarm system for the Myvi that causes the battery to be exhausted faster?
Most probably so, but the workshop says battery usually needs to change by 1 year 3 months. Now we’ve changed to dry cell.
wow you’re not kidding about eventful. hope john’s bro is ok
now datz one event full day.can’t imagine John had 2 push more than half a tonne all by himself but to even think that people drove past while he was at it is just heartbreaking. Well we just thank God that such a day is over and that you made it through.
