Kuching once again made headlines as a healthy city in the NST yesterday. Well, this is not a first, as Kuching was voted as cleanest city in SEA before, and even best infrastructure. Something like that. Proud to be Kuchingite! Miaw!
Kuching may not be known in the Western Pacific region for development, but the city wins hands down when it comes to health standards. The World Health Organisation declared Sarawak’s state capital a model “healthy city” last October for its exemplary role in ensuring the health of its residents.
“Healthy cities like Kuching are continuously implementing plans to improve the health of the people,” its Western Pacific Building Healthy Communities and Populations director, Dr Linda Milan, told the New Straits Times.
