Island Hopping in Kota Kinabalu Sabah
Sabah is the best place to go island hopping, having so many islands that are still pretty natural thanks to conservation efforts. Tunku Abdul Rahman Park is one of the most accessible and popular ones within Kota Kinabalu town. The Park is created to protect the environment of 5 islands, Manukan, Mamutik, Gaya, Sapi and Sulug. The Park entrance at the jetty called Jesselton Point is up north of the town. We parked our rented Kancil under a shady tree to avoid paying for parking fees. Entering the ticketing area, we found a blood donation drive going on. There were many counters all promoting island packages. It’s up to customers…

It is situated in a new housing area ALAMESRA, apparently developed by a West Malaysian company. John’s aunt brought us there since it was only the shophouse in front of Tune Hotel, and she was staying nearby at Kingfisher. Fruits of the Sea
It might seem unfair to other states in Malaysia that Sabah seems to have everything that other states can offer for tourism..you want to climb mountains? She has the highest one, you want to go diving, she has the nicest diving spots, world-class at that, you want to eat? She has the biggest seafood! Well, that was our main mission, to devour the fruits of the sea in Kota Kinabalu. I have heard about the seafood for the longest time, well Sarawak has plenty of seafood too, but believe me when I say in Sabah was the first time I saw and taste crabs that big and shells so huge…

Air Asia’s Tune Hotel, Kota Kinabalu
<a href=”https://www.flickr.com/photos/leona/15880075472″ title=”P1250434 by Leona, on Flickr”><img src=”https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7486/15880075472_479ef5bcf7.jpg” width=”500″ height=”375″ alt=”P1250434″></a> I had booked Air Asia’s Tune hotel in KK way before it even opened, for nothing but the cheap rates. I actually paid RM0.02 for the room for 2 nights, RM16.80 for the administrative fees, and RM 10.49 for 12 hours credit of air cond, that ‘s a total of RM27.31! I’ve never stayed in a cheaper room. <a href=”https://www.flickr.com/photos/leona/15880075472″ title=”P1250434 by Leona, on Flickr”><img src=”https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7486/15880075472_479ef5bcf7.jpg” width=”500″ height=”375″ alt=”P1250434″></a> The only thing is, the hotel is not in town, but a bit far off. So, we needed to rent a car to get around. <a href=”https://www.flickr.com/photos/leona/15693075038″ title=”P1250153 by Leona,…
