Kuching Kolo Mee in Kajang

Ok, I think I wrote about this place in Sg Chua before that sells Sarawak Laksa, but the difference now is that the Kolo mee cook has been changed to the authentic Kuching guy.

It is also cheaper now at RM4 per bowl, yes, served in a bowl now. The Kolomee is probably 80% authentic, the noodles is definitely imported from Kuching.

What is lacking is the red Pork oil which is from the Kuching famous red roasted pork, but here the roasted pork is brown, so no red oil.

The taste, well taste pretty good. Nothing like the ‘springyness’ of the curly noodle.

Lots of Sarawak people living in Kajang go to this place it seems. Everytime we are there, the boss will tell us about the gang of Sarawakians from here and there. At least now when we crave a taste of Kolo mee, this place will do good for now, since it’s super near to us.

Aww… too bad i didn;t get to taste it when i was still in kajang 😛 i’ve tasted the one from Kuching, it;s reli quite nice but here in Bintulu it’s quite hard to find nice one…. haha.

R u from Sarawak? You’re a tad late coz the shop actually closed down and moved to kuchai lama due to no business here. The nearest kolomee now can be found in Mahkota Cheras, tho not as authentic

i knew, but now i can’t remember oops. But fear not, a new kolo mee shop has opened in Kajang, at Restaurant 2020 opposite Holy Family church. Taste ok, made a young lad from Kuching.

If you can find Holy Family Church Kajang (google maps), you definitely can’t miss Restaurant 2020. They’re directly opposite of each other.

The noodles are hand made; tastes OK (quite original, though nothing beats the curly noodles). It’s tad dry, but can be overcome with some soup. The chili is DEFINITELY ORIGINAL style. Nothing beats sitting in a kopitiam at 9am on a Sunday reading papers and eating kolo mee, in West Malaysia!! The smell of lard wafting thru your nostrils are plain AWESOME!
