Modern cafe in an old town
Recently there’s a new store that opened in Kajang town, pasar Kajang to be exact. At the market area, there are two rows of food stalls, mostly those very old kopi tiam kind. Well, this store called Kitchen Wonderland is pretty unique, interior design wise. I like how they manage to liven up this very old part of town, and make it ‘young’ and ‘hip’ yet in a simplistic manner. Kuching Kolo Mee in Kajang
Ok, I think I wrote about this place in Sg Chua before that sells Sarawak Laksa, but the difference now is that the Kolo mee cook has been changed to the authentic Kuching guy. It is also cheaper now at RM4 per bowl, yes, served in a bowl now. The Kolomee is probably 80% authentic, the noodles is definitely imported from Kuching. What is lacking is the red Pork oil which is from the Kuching famous red roasted pork, but here the roasted pork is brown, so no red oil. The taste, well taste pretty good. Nothing like the ‘springyness’ of the curly noodle. Lots of Sarawak people living in…
