The Listener with Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Review
The Listener was part of Family Fun Day programme at the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP). I always try to bring the kids to enjoy and appreciate the orchestra whenever there is a great programme on. I was really glad to have gone to this one. I was thrilled to note the selection of the pieces for the day which featured some of my favourite composers. I noticed there were more adults than usual that came without children. I suspect it must have been the work of Harry Porter. CELEBRATE MALAYSIA DAY WITH THE SCREENING OF ‘OLABOLA’ WITH THE MPO AT DFP!
What is a more befitting way to celebrate Malaysia Day than with the screening of OlaBola with its score presented ‘live’ by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO)! The spectacular showcases are scheduled on Friday, 15 September 2017 and Saturday, 16 September 2017 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Fiharmonik PETRONAS (DFP). This will be the first time the MPO accompanies the screening of a local movie; prior to this, the MPO has presented the ‘live’ soundtrack for the screenings of Hollywood movies such as Psycho, Home Alone, Casablanca, and Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times and The Gold Rush. EXCITING FAMILY-THEMED CONCERTS BY THE MPO AT DEWAN FILHARMONIK PETRONAS!
Join a fun-filled musical splendour when the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) presents Family Fun Day concerts on Sunday, 10 September 2017 at 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC. Themed The Listener, the MPO will present much loved works such as Britten’s A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, popularly used for music education to demonstrate the tone colours and capacities of the various sections of the ensemble. Also included in the repertoire list is ‘Polka’ from Shostakovich’s The Age of Gold Suite and Smetana’s The Bartered Bride Overture, one of the earliest examples of national Czech music. Go Green, Buy and Sell Secondhand Baby Toys
I’m a firm believer of learning through play. After 8 years and 2 boys, my house is proof of my belief, there are toys lying everywhere. I have a big storage of toys right inside my kitchen because the storeroom is full. My guest room had turned into a toy and junk storage too.
