Beat The Heat with SnowWorld in Genting Highlands

Have you been to SnowWorld yet? I must admit it was my first time in Snow World even though I had been to Genting Highlands numerous times. Right now when the weather in Klang Valley is like crazy super hot reaching to 40 deg celcius on certain days, I just wish I can hop back to Snow World in Genting Highlands again.

The temperature that day was at -4 deg celcius, wow I had never been in anywhere below 16 deg before so it was definitely an amazing experience.

No worries if you do not have winter wear, you can still enjoy this theme park. Upon entering, we get to choose our suitable jacket, gloves, even boots and keep the rest of our belongings in the locker. I didn’t even dare to bring in my camera and phone as I do not know how well they work in such cold temperature. So, to make up for it, watch my video below from our sports camera.

The place is quite large, big enough to run around. Some parts can be slippery especially around the stairs. There are some igloos and hiding places in case we get too cold, we can just go hide in there. How nice if there’s a fire place too? Haha. Kids love to run up the stairs and slide down the giant slide while sitting on a tube. We also love to use the mini snow sledge to pull each other around the snow. All these physical activities actually helped to keep us warm a little bit, but I still wished I had worn double socks coz my toes were freezing right off!

The SnowWorld always transforms according to the current celebrations. When I was there, it was near to Easter time so the SnowWorld had many easter theme celebrations, like finding the chocolate easter eggs in the igloo, crafts and games for kids. Those who guessed the correct number of eggs even won 2D1N Stay in First World Hotel, happy to note one of my blogger friends Betty Liew actually won!
The kids started making their crafts at the Egg-citing arts and crafts table located just at the entrance to the very snowy park, and Josiah decided to make a bunny spoon puppet.

All the bloggers and families gathering after the fun in Snow World with chattering teeth and frozen toes.

It so happened to be Genting International Children’s Festival that was held annually, and we get to see the beautiful giant balloon sculptures and play area at Times Square. Clowns were also giving out balloons of all shapes and sizes to children walking around the area.

We also stopped by the ocean-themed shopping fair at First World Plaza. The ‘Sea The World’ shopping fair is great for window shoppers as well as serious shoppers alike.

All kinds of things from decor to plants and souvenirs to toys are available here.

I also spotted nice jewellery, necklaces and some are made from real shells.
Sometimes, when on holiday, you just feel the need to buy something, right? I don’t know as I always feel that way. I was also attracted to the handbags, and needless to say the kids were all eyes on the toys.
In cold places, we tend to want to munch something more, so it was very timely to spot snacks for sale at a discount too. A great addition to the shopping area in Times Square, glad to see it’s always ever changing with new things.

  1. It was so cold for me too! Went there for my first time and my lips were so dry from the cold. But it was fun! Got to play the sliding and really hard work for those guys who had to stop us at the bottom.

  2. Looks like you had an enjoyable time with your kids. hehe. I think i need to visit snow world to beat the heat too.

  3. It definitely has been ages since I last visited Snow World Genting. In this weather, it would be perfect to just cool off even in artificial snow

  4. I never really been to snow world. But I agree that it can help us to beat the heat at KL hehe! Now only I realise that it was so happening in Genting Highlands with so many fun activities.

  5. It sure is so delightful getting to play in the snow… the kids would love it best as they get a chance to feel how it is in Winter and get out of it when it gets too freezing

  6. Yay it’s open again after being closed for quite some time due to renovations! Previously wanted to shoot my Elsa cosplay here back in 2013 lol

  7. It’s a nice place, the last time I went, I tried to go in but then turn around and left cause I overheard a lady sing Frozen’s theme song. Spoilt my mood. LOL
