What could be better than a Starbucks Tea party? Did you realise that Starbucks started focusing on TEA LOVERS with their new TEAVANA range? I did notice Matcha Cold Foam in the menu recently and wondered what it would be like. Well I got to find out today.

At the tea party in Starbucks DC Mall, I was really impressed as there’s a second floor here. I hope to see more cafes opening with more than one floor so we can hang out and sip out coffee away from the Barista…just kidding.

We were there to check out the latest offerings of food and beverages. Being a fan of Starbucks, I tend to stop by for breakfast whenever I can especially when attending my business seminars. I just can’t live without coffee but I got pretty fond of the tea series as well and I will tell you why.

First off, let’s check out the promotional food which is already selling in stores as we speak. Citron Éclair (RM 7.50) is inspired by the mandarin of the Lunar New Year, this éclair is topped with white chocolate, orange drizzle and bites of oranges. Being a sweet tooth myself, I absolutely adored this pastry, the cream inside is cheesy and not that sweet so it’s just perfect as a treat. The Orange Muffin with Cranberry and Cream Cheese (RM 8.30) is really delightful as well, especially the chunks of cheese with every bite.

Chicken Lasagna (RM 13.80) is a classic, but it is very creamy and the portion is just nice. Goes really great with the tea. The hashbrowns with egg is really nice as well, I like that it it not too salty.

Chicken and Cabbage Foldover (RM 7.90) surprisingly tastes better than it sounds, especially if you live creamy and cheesy flavours. Then there’s the very localised Tandoori Chicken Flatbread Sandwich (RM 12.50) which is just okay for me as I would prefer more western tastes if I should eat in Starbucks.

Since Valentine’s Day is also around the corner, Starbucks have also released the heart themed pastry such as Love me Doughnut, Joyful Doughnut (RM7.20) and the Hearts of Luv Cupcake (RM 8.70) which is a Red Velvet cake.

How can we enjoy pastries without the drinks? There are three new promotional drinks launched this time.

The Teavanaâ„¢ Chestnut Black Tea Latte is really tea, but Starbucks gave coffee lovers the option of adding a shot of espresso if we want to. However, I was surprised that this drink really tasted like coffee. I think this one would be loved by most coffee lovers. It is a kind of nutty taste with a hint of floral note.

SBX20180824_ 12094_MatchaColdFoamIcedAmericano
I quite favoured the Matcha Cold Foam Iced Americano as I love the Matcha coffee combo. The Matcha is creamy while the coffee is bitter and matched together, it is quite refreshing. What a contrast.

Then there are our friends who don’t drink milk, they can go for this, the Teavanaâ„¢ Mango Passionfruit Cold Foam Iced Shaken Black Tea. This is available Iced or Sparkling in some outlets, so do enquire. It would taste amazing Sparkling I think!

What else do we love to do in Starbucks besides eating and drinking? The merch of course! I absolutely fell in love with this fluffy tumbler. The merchandises makes to die for gifts, so look no further should you be stuck what to get for your beloved this New Year and VDAY.

They are all in muted purple and pink with lots of hearts and arrows, it’s not too girlie so it’s great.
