We bloggers may go to a lot of beauty workshops, but it’s not often that we get to meet the founder of the skincare or makeup brand itself. So imagine my excitement to meet the founder of Naruko skincare line from Taiwan thanks to this exclusive workshop by Watsons. Admittedly, I used to think Naruko is some Japanese name, but it actually represents N – Niuer A – Affordable R – Refine U – Unique K – Kindness O – Original. I think he truly managed to fulfil most of those descriptions in the brand.
Oh I got to meet him! Yes, objective fulfilled. However, more important than that, I actually got to learn a few tips and tricks from him on how to take care of the skin. He himself was a real walking testimony, at 49 he looked no more than 35 and have superb skin, so much so that many of my friends asked if I was taking a pic with a wax sculpture of him.
It was also the launch of the all new Jing Cheng Series with the star product being this Jing Cheng 60 Actives La Creme (RM188) with over 60 Eastern and Western natural botanical extracts hence the name. By the way, Naruko products are all paraben and sulphate free, a plus factor always.
All the ranges which are many, comes in full set of products. They are complimentary but can be mixed as well. For example, the Jing Cheng series also comes with Jing Cheng Rejuvenating Eye Complex EX, Jing Cheng 60 Actives Ultimate Moisturizer, Jing Cheng 60 Actives Youth Enhancer, and Jing Cheng 5 Days Face Lift Firming Serum. The Jing Cheng series is pricier than the rest of Naroko’s range, randing from RM128 to RM200++.
I personally really liked the Tea Tree range, for Shine Control and Blemish free skin for Acne skin and Pores. I had tried the 2 in 1 mask and cleanser as well as the night gel and they are both amazing to use and felt great on the skin. In fact, he has so many products for all types of skin concerns, from anti wrinkle to whitening to pore tightening and brightening and more!
Niuer Guru really shared his life story with us and how his skin was acne prone when he was younger until how he managed to find the right products to create Naruko that solved his skincare woes. He also demonstrated his products on some of the participants with great results. What I really learned from him was to never use toner or essence directly from the palms of our hands. We should always use a cotton pad to apply it so that dead skin cell can be removed when we swipe and also so that the right amount of essence can be absorbed in our skin at every tap. Well, really after that day, I went back and started using all the cotton pads without thinking it is a waste.
These Bunga Raya Sheet Masks are superb too! I used it for 20 min and it doesn’t dry up one bit unlike most sheet masks I had tried. After removing it, the mask is still heavy with essence that I can apply it all over my arms and neck. Also, it’s super hydrating. The packaging is a bit different from the rest, but it’s also a Naruko product.
