[Food Review] Pelicana Premium Gourmet Chicken from Korea

Pelicana 페리카나 Chicken from Korea opened its latest restaurant in ECurve recently, and we were there to try it out. In case you are wondering, why is it famous, check out the video below with 2PM, one of Korea’s hot boy bands.

Pelicana Chicken around the world is nothing new, it has over 2000 outlets worldwide! There is even one outlet in my hometown Sarawak but I had never been there. So I am so grateful that I get to visit the one in Ecurve as I had heard so much about it, especially in Kdrama too, want to guess which Kdrama did it appear in? Tell me in the comments!

Let’s check the menu for what to order first, even the menu started to excite my taste buds. The pricing is pretty affordable and there are so many value meals and sets to choose from. The drinks mocktails look amazing.

While waiting for the chicken to be fried, we cooled down our bodies with Pelicana Signature Mocktails, Passion Fruit Peach and Forest Maracuja at RM8.50 each. I also spotted coffee in the menu, definitely a place I’d hang out just for coffee and Affogato ya.

The mocktails are made with fresh juice and super refreshing, drink more fruit juice, great for the complexion.

I also tried the children friendly Apple Vanilla and Apple Rose mocktails, it’s lighter and kids will love this.

The Peli Chicken Combo Meals come with this Korean Fragrant Rice and 2 Side Dishes 반찬, namely Musaengchae 무생채 Season Radish and Miyeok Muchim 미역무침 Seaweed Salad. I love the seaweed salad, I can eat many bowls of this alone. The side dishes can be ordered Ala Carte at RM4.50 each.

Our first chicken dish was the Peli Crunchy Chicken served with packets of Yellow sauce.

I really enjoyed this chicken and so did my kids, as it is crunchy on the outside and juicy inside and it’s not spicy. The yellow sauce is very special, it’s like a type of mayo with mustard mix and it totally complements the chicken.

The next dish we had was the Peli YangNyeom Chicken Original, this one is only 1 level in spicyness, still very bearable for me and it’s super delicious, this is probably my fav as I Heart the sauciness covering the chicken skin.

This is the Peli YangNyeom Chicken Spring Onion, as delicious as the original fried with spring onions so it’s so fragrant, also rated as level 1 spiciness. This one still ok for me who cannot eat really spicy dishes. By the way, it has a tinge of wasabi in it which I love, but it’s up to personal taste.

I also love Peli YangNyeom Chicken Charcoal BBQ, this one is Level 2 spiciness, still ok for me amazingly. It is fragrant and crunchy and spicy all together.

This is the killer dish, Peli YangNyeom Chicken HOT SPICE! You can see that’s it’s laden with Chilli on top, it’s really really spicy for me! 이거 너무 매워요! Very good for those who love chili padi!

After eating all the spicy crunchy chicken we need something to cool down again. I love their yogurt smoothie series, comes in four flavours, like the Forest Fruit Yogurt, Pineapple Maracuja Yogurt, Caramelised Apple Peach Yogurt and the most special one, Pina Colada (Pineapple Coconut) all at RM10.90 per glass.

By the way, it’s not just chicken that is served there, they also have Gourmet Burgers.

There are many types to choose from, I only tried the Peli Jumbo Fillet Burger, as you can imagine, I was stuffed beyond recognition by the point. I might have eaten a whole chicken and drunk 4 glasses of juice and smoothies. However, the burger was still awesomely delicious, a must try for burger lovers for sure. You get the same crunchy peli chicken as the patty with fries and burger bun for your needed carbs in your meal.

Guess what, they have a promotion for Buka Puasa throughout this month, it’s of great value with 33% savings.

There are two types of platter to choose from, Platter A for up to 4 pax at RM66.90 and Platter B for up to 6 pax at RM98.90. One person only pay about RM16, so it’s a great deal.

If you love coffee and love dessert, then don’t miss ordering some of those also available here, I must try the affogato with double scoop ice cream the next time I go back there.
