Visa Electron Mega Bonus/PR Advantage Reward

Ever since applying for Public Bank’s Debit card, the Visa Electron, I’ve used it solely for my Paypal transfers and nothing else. It’s already one year now and it’s time to pay my RM24 annual fees. However, I found another charge in my statement for Mega Bonus/PR Advantage Reward which was debited from my debit card. I was just about to make payment without really looking when I noticed the funny amount.

Having searched around in some blog comments, I found out that it was actually a system mistake from Public Bank’s side that automatically thought that our Paypal transfers were chargebacks. So the only way to reverse this charge is to call Public Bank Card Centre. So I called 603-2176 8000, was made to hold for something like 10 minutes, and only to be confirmed that the charge will be credited in my next statement.

So to all the Visa Electron Paypal users, do remember to call to get your money back.

All banks in Malaysia are cultprits when it comes to customer service. They make you wait and wait before serving you. Why can’t they just increase the customer service personnel?
