On my last night

It was my last night in Kuching, and I had just enough time to meet up with Amy, and old friend for yam char. Of course, in Kuching, yam char sometimes means checking out new mushrooming cafes and restaurants.

We first went to Pitcher Plant Tea house near to Civic Centre. This place was nice, serves only bubble teas and some other normal drinks without those big bubbles though. Heck the drink I ordered was Special Milk Tea and it was so unimpressive that I totally forgot about taking pictures. The place also closes super early, it was only 10pm on a Saturday nite when they started turning off the air-cond and lights! Talk about not wanting business.

Being reckless and all, my friend decided we should check out some nicer places. We drove to Petanak where we heard there is a nice Music Cafe there. Sure enough we spotted the place from far off, and it was totally packed. Just as we parked, some people left, so we managed to get a seat. Entertainment for the night was young man singing mellow Chinese tunes, and then later a young lady joined him. She sounded fantastic, I wanted to check her out, but no chance to do that.

We ordered Mocha coffee and a mix friend dish. It was not too pricey and fantastic, plus when we left at neary midnite, the place was still packed. Talk about good business.

  1. The food looks good, and I suppose this one would be from the music cafe? Maybe I can go check it out sometime, thanks for the info!
