New Photo Album

I had upgraded my account! So now I can visit my own site without having to avoid the bursting of bandwidth and stuff hehe. Another thanks to Liewcf for providing such an affordable service! Unbelievable!

Anyways, even with the extra space, I’m always on the lookout for more space elsewhere (read Free 😉 space). I love taking pics and collecting them and sharing them online. This is because I live rather far away from home, and my sisters back home wants to see what’s up with my life here. Pictures, I believe is the best way of telling my Kajang story.

Sometime ago, Dave helped me to set up a gallery on this site. It was a lovely little gallery with great features, but uploading my photos was starting to take a toll on the space. I kinda like to take pictures in sequence so there are just too many pics if I were to upload everything! The gallery still remains, (the above link), but I wanted something else, something with unlimited uploads. Previously, I had an account with Fotki, but I exceeded the small space given.

Recently, my sisters introduced me to Zorpia. Zorpia meets much of my requirements, being free and unlimited (for now, I won’t know if they’d one day decide to charge). I checked it out, didn’t like it at first. This is because, I can view the pics in full size unless I use up 2 points (100 points are given upon sign up). Somemore, I can link to my pics from my site, for one particular pic. For that purpose, I’d have to go back to imgspot or spymac.

However, a short google search for free unlimited uploads of pics, and I gave up. I went back to Zorpia, uploaded all my Cat pictures, and kinda think it’s quite good now. Some good points to note:
1) IT IS FREE!
2) It uploads multiples pictures very quickly, can even upload in zipped format.
3) It detects duplicated pictures. Useful for people like me, I tend put some same pictures in different folders.
4) It IS UNLIMITED! I added all my cat pictures ONLY and that’s already 135MB foo yoh! Tell me where else to find such space for free?
5) It’s like a community of album collectors, so you can make some friends with people who upload similar pictures to yours. Means same interest la.
6) It’s got a nifty little zorpia box, see the side menu, that I can add to my site as a quick link to the gallery.
7) Plus, there are many ways to get more points, by inviting people, by having your pictures looked at at full size. etc
8) It’s got a journal one can document one’s thoughts, for those who don’t already have a blog.
9) What else? Can’t remember…anyways, just check it out! Another cool service on the World Wide Web! ;P

  1. Hi Leona! I still prefer using my imagestation account. It’s free, unlimited and I don’t have to worry about points or anything. I can upload pics, create nice albums and share them quickly. And I can decide if they are public or not. I can also see who has visited them or not. There is also a huge gallery very well organised and an online magazine with tips on digital photography. Moreover, I now discovered Sony Digital University with many interesting and FREE courses. Take a look. 🙂
