Recently, two new shoplots have opened near my house. The great thing is, many cafes are opening there too, that means more choices for lunch and dinner times out for us. Today we paid a visit to one of the cafe that is already opened, called Mill Wheel or Pao Bing in Chinese. From outside, it looked like a dessert place, with pics of snow ice and all that, but in fact, there are rice, pizza and spaghetti options in this little place, besides the wide array of snow ice desserts, plus other tidbits like bread, hotdogs etc.
There is really quite a large range in the menu. I noted that the food looked really odd and interesting at the same time, for eg. they have snow ice served in a mini wok, ice drinks with corn flakes and others with cheese, or pudding. These are not your conventional recipes, but they sure looked interesting.
It so happened that this place was opened by someone John knows, as when we entered the place, the lady boss said to him, you forgot me already ah. 😛
So I ordered the Spaghetti with Chicken, tasted good, just that there should really be more chicken and maybe some vegetable in it.
John ordered the blackpepper chicken rice. Looks great.
When it comes to ice desserts, I only have eyes for Mango ones. So I ordered this, a mixture of Mango on top, pudding in the middle, and Watermelon below. The taste? Best Ice Dessert I’ve tasted in a long time, the ice is really soft and not chunky, the fruits are real fruits not some syrup, really good!
As this place is right opposite Yu Hua School, when school reopens, I’m sure there will be so many students hanging out here, but they are not without competition, as just a few blocks away, another Ice dessert cafe is opening.
This place is actually a franchise with other cafes in KL. It takes RM200000 to start this franchise, phew. The lady boss used to be a Kindergarten teacher, now who says not everyone can be a boss?
