Wholesome Beauty Without Stress At Sojourn GuestHouse

You have probably heard of Herbaline Facial Spa as they are a well known as the first spa concept facial place in Malaysia. Well, they have birthed Sojourn Guesthouse, another first in their line of achievements with a 3-in-1 concept; mainly Eat Well with Mama Kim, the healthy food cafe on the ground floor, Look Well with the signature Herbaline Facial Spa and Live Well, with the beautifully conceptualised guesthouse for overnight guests, all in one building. I was blessed to be able to pay a visit to Sojourn Guesthouse to check out the services offered and experience it first hand together with my whole family, as they actually have a family room here.

As I stepped into the guesthouse, I was greeted at the reception by a cheerful staff. The fragrance of lavender and lemongrass permeates the air and immediately calms down my soul after a day of rushing around.

The interior decoration is also nature driven with concept of greens and wood and natural texture used in every photo worthy corner. So much creativity is found just at the lobby itself, more to come in the guesthouse rooms.

There are only two family rooms here so early booking is definitely necessary if this is the room you want to use, which is the corner of the building. My room is 206 on the second floor and it is so much more than what I hoped for.

The family room comes with a queen and a single bed, and there is also a reclining chair from Muji which Josiah actually slept on for the night. The bed is comfortable and I always love it when hotels give 4 pillows per bed or more, we always need the extra fluff.

The bed overlooks the standard LCD TV and wall aircond as well as a safety deposit box on the TV Console.

Some tea making facility and mineral water are provided, but no coffee here, instead we are encourage to drink more green tea and lemongrass tea as it is healthy.

The bathroom area really stands out, there is this beautiful oriental basin with a brass bamboo pipe. The basin really looks more like a water feature in itself.

The kids got all excited about the Japanese wooden bathtub. Actually, it might look small from outside, but it is quite large, two persons can go in if they want. This bathtub is just next to the bed in an open area, it is more like a dipping pool and another one is found at the Herbaline Spa too.

There is another shower room and a separate toilet, of course, these are enclosed with glass walls and aluminium hinged doors.

I love the quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash and they are in stone jars, a good idea to be eco-friendly and not be using all the disposable bottles right.


The beautiful interior deco is not limited to inside the rooms. Usually, in most hotels, the walkway to the rooms are plain and simple. It is a total different case in Sojourn Guesthouse where every space and corner is utilised for something special and they are also beautifully decorated.

On the 3rd floor, there is a spacious area for book lovers, with floor chairs and many types of books and magazines available.

This is just one of the many corners for relaxing and maybe hanging out with your friends and family.

There is a communal green tea making facility on both floors, with unlimited supply of green tea, cold water and hot water for guests.

This is the meditation zone. Anyone can use this place and cover the curtains for some peace and quiet and some soul searching. The curtains are incredibly soft and they remind me of curtain makers from Edinburgh UK whose services we had taken a while back when we were getting all our home interiors changed. Luckily we won the jackpot, as it was the first company we checked out and my kids and I both loved their designs at first glance.

Since this guesthouse just opened recently, they are having a promotional price starting from RM98 for a single person’s room with breakfast at Mama Kim. I will be posting a food review on Mama Kim next together with a review of the Herbaline Facial Spa.

Guests can opt for just the room with breakfast or Package A or B according to the different pricing, it is best to book with a package to save cost, better than going for the facial or massage separately.

The family room that I took was Package B at RM338 and comes with:

• Relaxing Deep Cleansing Facial Treatment for 60 min worth RM89 each x 2


• Complimentary Food Paraffin Wax Treatment worth RM29 each x 2


• Signature Sauna Mee and Lemongrass set dinner worth RM17 x 2


• Breakfast set x 3

After checking in, the staff will book a slot for our facial spa treatment. For me, it was at 5pm as the spa closes by 8pm. It was just nice to head for dinner at Mama Kim right after.
