Kuching has a Friendship Park built by China engineers, how cool is that? It’s actually a really clean, beautifully built park to commemorate 30 years of Malaysia and China’s relationship. The park has a giant Laksamana Cheng Ho’s statue, I’m not sure why, since Cheng Ho actually went to Malacca?
It is a well known fact for Sarawakians that Sarawak has some kind of secret relationship with China. Check out all the China goods flooding the supermarkets, the illegal DVDs and bundles of illegal fireworks, all coming direct from China, selling openly.
Anyways, back to the beautiful Friendship Park, where I spotted a panda and a not happy looking cat.
On first look, they look like they’re playing, but on closer inspection, the cat shows distaste that he has to carry that huge slab or marble. Anyways, if you’re gonna sit on that bench, it would seem like putting a burden on the animals.
The arch looks awesome in daylight. Well, the last time I came was at night that’s why. This place is great to hang out in the evenings, and definitely the spot for photographers, especially wedding photographers.
