Ok Maybe I’m exaggerating on the hell bit, it should definitely be worse there. However, being pregnant with chicken pox is pure torture right now. Initially I thought probably it wasn’t going to be so bad, guess I was wrong. On the first day, I thought I had a terrible breakout. On the 2nd day, I looked like Freddy Krueger from Elm Street. Today, I reminded myself of the Elephant man. Looking in the mirror has become quite scary. I already had bad skin, and it normally took forever for a little pimple to heal and then for the scar to disappear. This on my face now looked like it might take forever.
Of course, it’s not just on the face. The itchy blisters are also on my scalp, in my ears, in my mouth, on my throat, all over my body even under my toes and in unmentionable places. Doing anything common like sitting down is now a chore. The worst part however is the inability to sleep. I haven’t been able to sleep well with the discomfort of pregnancy, now I cannot sleep at all. I put on the calamine lotion and take the anti-histamine pills, yet the itch still caused me to lie in bed sleepless at nights and it’s a mental torture.
I’m now on 10 days MC leave to avoid spreading the virus to others. If you’re an adult who never had chicken pox, don’t take the risk, get a vaccine. I had no idea whether I had chicken pox when I was younger or not as my mum couldn’t remember, but if I could move back time, I’d take that vaccine asap.
Ouch… take care… at least you’ve got a new topic to blog on… 😀
hope all the itchiness will get away soon. Poor u, take care k.
