Watching AVI movies on Windows Vista
Windows Vista is great in many ways, but problematic in many ways as well for regular XP users. Most downloaded movies are in .avi format, but Windows Media Player in Vista just wouldn’t play them. Well, it will play, but one will only hear the audio not the see the video. You can’t even burn the video to DVD using the Windows DVD Maker as when you do that, Vista will define the file as corrupted. There is a workaround to this, and the answer is codec. With so many codecs out there, it will be hard to decide which ones actually worked..as there’s no uninstalling the codec once installed.…
